What is a marriage certificate and when do I receive this?
You receive a blank marriage certificate from the license agent, upon payment of the Hawaii marriage license fee. After your Kauai wedding ceremony, your marriage officiant will certify upon the marriage certificate that a marriage has taken place. Your marriage certificate is then sent to the Hawaii Department of Health which registers the wedding certificate then returns it to you by mail 60-120 days after your marriage has been performed.
